Welcome N8V Students @ the Intellectual House
**September 28, 2016, 3:00-6:00 PM** The event is designed to get students to get engage with each other and meet some of departments in a fun atmosphere. Our theme this year is a carnival. We plan on having Student Groups and Departments host individual events. AISES @ UW will be hosting a table and carnival activity at this event. Please visit our booth to receive more information! |
Strengthening STEM Through Diversity
Saturday, October 8 at 8:30 AM - 5 PM in PDT HUB Lyceum and Allen Library Research Commons Event details: In partnership with the Graduate School, a collaborative summit will take place in the Fall titled "Strengthening STEM through Diversity." The event aims to bring together students, staff, and faculty in STEM-related fields in order to address the needs, challenges, and successes of underrepresented or minoritized members of these fields. AISES members Jessica Hernandez and Amanda Hayes are participating in their student panel. |

Healing Through Culture, Hip Hop, Running and Love
Join us for an MWS funded beading event to honor our Elders and graduating students as Shannon Fleg (health educator) and Anthony Fleg (family physician) share examples from their work to improve the health of Indigenous communities in NM through the Native Health Initiative partnership. Honoring the Legacy of Traditional Indian Medicine and Health Approaches Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House 4249 Whitman Court, Seattle, WA 98195 http://www.washington.edu/maps/#!/int Honored Speaker Annette Squetimkin-Anquoe, PhD Annette Squetimkin-Anquoe is of the Sanpoil and Lakes Bands of the Colville Confederated Tribes and grew up in central Washington. She has lived in the Seattle, WA area since 1986 and has served Urban Indian and tribal communities for thirty years in a variety of administrative and direct service positions. She is currently the Traditional Health Director and the Project Director of a federal planning initiative, Circles of Care VI Project, at the Seattle Indian Health Board. |
